We have combined the beauty of wood fired cooking with stunning Italian design in a high performing pizza oven that also acts as design feature in your dining setting: see our latest wood fired gourmet and pizza oven My-Chef.

The making of our My-Chef oven.
Our My Chef wood fired gourmet oven’s unique design consists of  a double walled dome in 2mm punched stainless steel.
It has a structured powder coated finish so it is really easy to keep it looking good, no need to polish as you would have to with bare stainless steel, and no cracking!
In between the double domes is a triple layer of commercial grade insulation blanket!
And even the oven door is double walled and insulated. The oven floor is insulated with 40mm high density fibreboard ensuring the heat stays in the oven.
The oven floor itself is in refractory tiles to withstand high temperatures.
The very high grade insulation of the oven dome and floor make this oven ideal for slow cooking as it retains the heat for a long time. So after for example a pizza lunch or pizza night you can slow-cook a nice pulled pork or a curry or home made bread in the remaining heat.
The other attractive asset is its fast heat up time. The stainless steel dome instead of brick dome and the quality of the materials used, allow for a heat up time of only around 20-25 minutes for roasting and cooking and around 30 minutes for pizza at 350°C.
And because of its design and the triple commercial grade insulation, it is very economical in wood use.

  4. I had My-Chef pizza oven for years but had to leave it to the new owner of my house when sold.
    I wanted the exactly same oven again for my new place. I have loved the investment of MWFO and it has been a focus point in entertaining the family and guests. I specifically like modifying old classic roasting methods in the Chef and naturally roasting trays of veges with ease for accompaniments also. Looking forward to experimenting more this summer now daylight saving has kicked in!

    I cooked some veggies and Salmon fillets in it already. Awesome.
    I cant believe how long it holds heat. I am going to try some Italian Beech wood briquettes this weekend. Another friend who owns a Pizza Restaurant (Dantes) has put me on to these. I’m buying them through Med Foods Auckland.
    I’m really going to enjoy the learning of how to heat and use the oven.

  7. Our pizza oven is now in place in the patio. We have managed to source some 3 year old dried Manuka wood so are pretty pleased with that. Ordeal since our first use of our oven: Best oven and best pizzas ever.

    We are loving our Chef Pizza oven.
    We did manage to get an awesome cook up in it a couple of weeks after purchase. Will try and load some photos on to your FB site.
    Bread, pizza, roast and an over night casserole was all done within 12 hours and oh so delicious! Also managed to squeeze in a couple of self saucing puddings too.

    We made some pizza and a stew for our first cooking in our Chef oven, and they were great! We found some Manuka wood and will cook again coming weekend.

  10. We have used our My Chef oven every weekend since purchasing. Its fabulous!!
    Lots of pizza and a few roasts and of course Bread. Our bread-making is a bit to be desired but we are persevering lol.
    But we have had some really fun nights with the pizza oven so Thank you both.
